Massage Therapy Services

Massage therapy should not only be considered as a luxury, it is an integral component of preventive maintenance for you physically, mentally and emotionally. As an accepted part of many physical rehabilitation programs, massage therapy has also proven beneficial for many chronic conditions, including low back pain, arthritis, bursitis, fatigue, high blood pressure, depression, and more. At Inspired Balance various types of massage are offered, and we are confident that you will be pleased with your massage experience.

DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE
Deep tissue massage is generally integrated with other massage techniques and focuses on the deeper layers of muscle tissue. This type of massage is used to help with chronic muscular pain, injury rehabilitation and the reduction of inflammation and is designed to loosen muscle tissues, release toxins from muscles and get blood and oxygen circulating properly.

PRENATAL/PREGNANCY MASSAGE
Prenatal/Pregnancy massage is specifically designed for expectant mothers and can reduce pregnancy discomforts and concerns and enhance the physiological and emotional well-being of both mother and baby.  Please Note: It is strongly recommended that pregnant clients in their 1st trimester seek the advice of their physician before receiving pregnancy massage.

SWEDISH RELAXATION MASSAGE
Swedish relaxation massage is a gentle, rhythmic massage used to relax soft body tissue and increase circulation. In this massage a lighter touch is administered and long flowing strokes and kneading are used to promote relaxation and reduce muscle tension.

SPORTS MASSAGE
Sports massage is, generally, geared towards athletes or those with an active lifestyle. This type of massage can be given before or after an event for different physical responses. Before an event, it is used to promote peak performance, improve flexibility, and reduce the risk of injury.  Used after an event, it can help reduce muscle soreness and swelling, break down toxins, increase blood circulation and reduce recovery time, enabling an athlete to resume training much sooner than rest alone would allow. Sports massage therapy should become a regular part of an athlete’s conditioning program, right alongside exercise and sport practice. It has just recently become an integral part of athletes’ training program, and is now widely used and widely supported.

NEUROMUSCULAR MASSAGE
Neuromuscular massage is a very deep, intensive and specific massage used to break up scar tissue and re-educate muscle groups. In a neuromuscular massage, the goal is to help relieve the pain and dysfunction by understanding and alleviating the underlying cause. Neuromuscular therapy can help individuals who experience distortion and biomechanical dysfunction, which is often a symptom of a deeper problem.

AROMATHERAPY MASSAGE
In an aromatherapy massage essential oils are used to promote healing and well-being. Used as a healing technique for thousands of years by the Egyptians, Greeks, and Romans, essential oils aid in relaxation, improve circulation, and help the healing of wounds. Each oil is derived from a plant and each has its own unique characteristics and benefits. During the massage the lotion containing your choice of essential oils is used to promote that oil's desired effect.

HOT STONE MASSAGE
Hot stone massage involves the application of water-heated basalt stones of varying sizes to key points on the body, giving a deep massage and creating sensations of comfort and warmth. The heat from the stones allows for a deeper and more sedative effect, creating a much more relaxing massage.
